SQL Server Developer - SSIS/VBA

SQL Server Developer urgently required by a leading organization based in Jersey City . The successful SQL Server developer will be required to work closely with the Risk Analytics team during the implementation of the second phase of an Excel/VBA/SQL Server based pricing system.

80% SQL Server 20% VBA

You will be responsible for creating database objects, and SSIS jobs required to populate the Datawarehouse and feed the pricing system from the warehouse.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

• Analysing data requirements and the full lifecycle development of data interfaces from source systems to the warehouse and to subscribing systems
• Full change control of developed artefacts from business sign off through analysis development testing and signoff
• Performing queries and writing reports for the purposes of data validation
• Developing SQL/Procedures/Database items/SSIS jobs in order to automate data quality and data automation
• Working with Infrastructure to migrate developed changes from non production environments to the production environment
• Using source control (TFS) in conjunction with Project to manage tasks and change requests daily
• Creating a metadata dictionary to support data lineage analysis for the Datawarehouse

Key technical skills :

The client s data environment consists primarily of the MS SQL Server 2005 Enterprise platform and its components:

• SQL Server
• SSIS
• TFS and change control process
• Excel 2007 and VBA

Therefore a core competency in the above is essential with regards to:

• Scripting SQL database object creation, alteration
• Writing SQL, stored procedures etc.
• Developing integration packages
• Data warehousing and data integration techniques Understanding the data requirements of the pricing system and how to map data elements from source systems via a Datawarehouse in order to meet those requirements
• Effective use of TFS and Project to communicate items to IT management
