Description
Our client is a noted Dallas-Fort Worth company with offices around the country. There is a business need for a SQL Server / ETL Developer to consolidate disparate reporting efforts from various divisions. The SQL Server Developer will be responsible for consolidating, defining, programming, and implementing the entralized eporting environment on a SQL Server 2000 using T-SQL. In this role the SQL Server Developer will take ownership as the primary project team programming resource.

The candidate will analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing and reporting. More specifically, he/she will work on a large-scale project to continue development of an Enterprise Reporting environment focused to handle financial related documents, indices, orders, and accounting functions.

Project tasks will include working with the Business Analyst, and Team Lead to define the user requirements, development of business and detailed design documentation, evaluation and proposal of process re-engineering, prototype development, creation and execution of test plans and test cases, development of data conversion documentation, and development user manuals and training material.

You will be asked to:
-- Design reporting table extract and load logic using SQL Server & T-SQL programming techniques
-- Create impact analyses as required
-- Optimize performance of report code / data access code
-- Create technical documentation content and templates
-- Analyze database structures to meet customer data requirements
-- Identify opportunities and constraints of existing application architecture

Additional Project-centric duties include:
-- Develop and monitor daily data quality checks and research bad data
-- Develop verification programs to remain in balance with source systems
-- Develop and execute the project team communication plan
-- Create trending data to data to uncover data anomalies
-- Work with business units for new client setup, hierarchy assignments, data access/security, documentation and training

Technical Skills:
-- 10+ years in Information Technology, Software Development
-- 7+ years SQL, and SQL programming techniques
-- 5+ years Extraction, Transformation, and Load programming skills
-- 5+ years SQL Server v7, 2000 experience
-- 5+ years Microsoft programming environment, including MS Data Transformation Services (DTS)
-- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills
-- Willingness to work in a team environment, and in a proactive manner
-- Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks

Desired Skills:
-- BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Business Administration
-- 1+ years as a Crystal Reports designer and developer
-- 1+ years utilizing Crystal Reports Enterprise in a centralized report environment is a PLUS!
-- Project Management experience
-- Experience Client interviewing, research, and JAD Facilitation
-- Work in a fast-paced environment
-- Advanced relational database design and development
-- Data modeling
-- Data migration scripting
-- Technical documentation
-- Establish, follow and enforce documentation standards
-- Ability to create, document and implement repeatable processes
-- MS Office, Visio, automated testing tools, CASE tools, Oracle Designer
