SQL Server Project Manager - Coppell, TX - No relo, No sponsorship - 65 to 75KSummary:The Project Manager is the primary point-of-contact for the client in planning and delivering the company's service solution, working to ensure a timely and quality implementation. They work closely with the Practice Manager to schedule and deploy resources to client sites as necessary. They use project management tools to track, manage and communicate progress on all projects. This role is responsible for maintaining client satisfaction during the relationship and success relies heavily on the Project Managers ability to communicate, set, and maintain clear expectations with everyone involved. The Project Manager needs to have a competent understanding of all aspects of planning and delivering of all of company's offerings.Job Duties (other duties may be assigned):h Conduct pre-engagement conference calls between the customer and the technical team.h Provide project management for all aspects of both billable and non-billable engagements. h Ensure proper resources are in place to provide effective and quality deliveries. h Work directly with the customer regarding changes to the project scope, assessment of possible constraints and identification of new service opportunities. h Coordinate the interaction with internal departments as necessary during the consulting engagement, proactively notifying the appropriate parties of changes in the delivery schedule. h Follow a project methodology to: o Define the projects objectives, scope and resources o Plan the tasks necessary to meet project objectiveso Manage the execution tasks, communication issues and reallocating resources as necessary o Close the project by ensuring all tasks are completed and the project is sufficiently documentedh Facilitate necessary internal and external meetings and prepare necessary status reports to ensure project tasks are being completed in a timely fashion. h Prepare, maintain and submit management reports (progress reports, time recording, escalations). h Develop productive relationships with the SE sales team.h Identify new business opportunities with the ability to understand the general capabilities and limitation in a customer's current SQL Server environment.h Track all costs for the service project. Report on monthly timesheet charges, travel and other expense costs as necessary. h Manage the cost of each project by tracking hours of effort delivered versus quote and alert Sales and customers of necessary additional fees. h Ensure revenues are accrued and invoices are accurately processed through the accounting department. h Ensure the quality of each service project and develop and cultivate strong customer relationships. h Distribute Customer Satisfaction Surveys in accordance to documented procedures. h Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices. h Mentor associates and foster a learning and growth environment. h Manage multiple projects at the same time and complete on time and within budget specifications.h Direct activities of on-site and off-site consultants.Skills:Proven experience in managing demanding, Fortune 500 customers, with a sharp focus on assuring the achievements of overall project goals at all stages. Proven management, leadership and coaching skills. Proven ability to communicate with business users and technical staff, and manage difficult situations. Demonstrated capability to proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver on time and within budget. Ability to function in the less structured environment of a small but growing company and implement new procedures as required by an ever changing business environment.Qualification Requirements:h Bachelors Degree. h Three years experience as a technical project manager or project leader in the IT services arena.h Two years experience with Microsoft Project application software.h Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. Additional knowledge with other high end RDBMSs a plus.h Excellent written and oral communication skills.h Experience with managing highly demanding Fortune 500 consulting engagements a must.h Fabulous customer service acumen.
