SQL Server System Administrator

Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Microsoft SQL servers in stand alone and active-passive and active-active cluster environments.

Install and configure monitoring and auditing tools used for optimization,
capacity planning and system security.

Create and implement test plans required for system upgrades and changes.

Optimize and manage growth plan for the Microsoft SQL Servers.

Evaluate, test and recommend new technology.

Ensure proper backup procedures are implemented and functioning properly.

Ensure proper software and hardware updates are installed appropriately and in a timely manner.


Experience/Skills
Proven skills with stored procedures, DTS, replication, clustering, optimization and reporting services.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment in both the supporting team member and lead roles.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and easily adapt to changes.
Experience working within change management policies and procedures.
Experience using Microsoft SQL Server backup and restore tools.
Experience with MS Project
