GENERAL FUNCTION:  Design, develop and maintaining superior quality learning solutions that (1) support and communicate Fifth Third?s Vision, (2) develop employee knowledge and skills, (3) positively influence employee attitudes and commitment, and (4) facilitate employee performance to attain Fifth Third?s business and financial goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Instructional Design:
Determine Needs: 
Develop strong partnerships to determine performance opportunities/gaps.
Recommend appropriate learning solutions (such as job aids, self-study materials, leader  guides, leader led materials, and e-Learning).
Ensure key Bancorp philosophy (i.e., vision, leadership, quality, etc.) is integrated throughout learning solutions.
Assist in the gathering of raw content.
Mentor other Instructional Design (ID) employees as needed to develop more sophisticated needs analysis, leadership, and influence skills.
Design:  
1)Project Leadership ? Determine learning solution success criteria.
Accurately forecast timelines/milestones (including SME time requirements and responsibilities).   
Write documents and conduct meetings that facilitate project understanding including (1) project synopsis, (2) results of audience analysis, (3) proposed learning solutions and how they meet the business need, and (4) samples of creative treatment or layout.  
Mentor other ID employees.
2)Update/Design Learning Solutions ? 
Update and design learning solutions in accordance with adult learning theory and usability principles that facilitates learning/skill acquisition.
Design learning solutions that engage/motivate learners.  
Research and recommend external vendor partners/resources.
Develop:  
Develops architecture of training solution by (1) sequencing instructional concepts, and/or (2) identifying and ensuring required media (i.e., video, audio, photos, etc.) are obtained.  
Manages review cycles with clients and is responsible for communicating changes to other team members. 
Deliver:  
Participates in the rollout plan development.
Evaluate: 
Determines success measures. 
 Responsible for understanding success post-rollout and improving the learning solution in future updates.


Project Leadership
Communicates with project team members to build relationships and ensures work phases are progressing per agreed to deliverables and timelines.
Keeps appropriate documentation/files for each phase of learning solution development.
Takes personal responsibility for project performance and communicates with manager and other leaders if resources/timelines/budgets are compromised.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct supervisory responsibilities.  However, the position may be responsible for providing the guidance on design and training delivery options.

Experience/Skills

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education: Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Education, or related field required.   Master?s highly preferred.


Experience:  Minimum of 5-7 years experience in instructional design.  Prefer 3 years of experience in eLearning or other Web based multimedia design.  
   
OTHER SKILLS: Must possess strong skills in at least one of the areas listed below.
