Unix Engineer
Prestigious Bank, NYC - Wall Street area
Up to $125K + generous benefits

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Unix engineers and administrators responsible for all aspects of infrastructure design, implementation and operations of mission critical systems in a major financial institution. This ever challenging work includes creating custom technical and operational solutions for the Sun Solaris environment as well as high level storage engineering, involving technologies such as Sun Solaris 10, Solaris zones, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster, Veritas Netbackup, MQ, Opsware SAS/PAS.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in Sun Solaris engineering, including Solaris 10. Candidates should have solid experience with the Veritas Foundation Suite of products, Veritas Cluster and Netbackup. Candidates should also have a strong SAN background. Any experience with WebSphere, MQ and Reuters RMDS is a plus.

It is a full-time first shift Monday-Friday position, but candidates should expect to work 1 Saturday a month and also provide after-hours on-call support 5-6 random days a month on average. Generous benefits, 9/10 day flexible work arrangement and comp time for weekend work are part of the compensation package.
