Description
CDI is looking for a Development Engineer to join our team.

The candidate hired for this position will be part of a team developing dynamic simulation software for a variety of industries.

This person will apply state of the art software technology, architecture and processes to expand the existing softwares capabilities, as well as develop new product offerings.

Projects will include developing control system emulations, interfaces to vendor supplied control systems, and graphical user interfaces and toolkits. Technologies such as Java, CORBA, C++ and SQL are employed to develop platform portable software.

Qualifications:
4 to 10+ years of experience, with a strong focus on software development.
Bachelors or higher in a technical degree are required. Excellent

English written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Software skills should include proficiency in at least one of the following areas, with some knowledge of several: Java, C++, C, CORBA, Windows NT/2000, XML, and SQL.

Must be proficient in the use of the Unix make utility as well as Unix debugging software.
Proficiency in the use of semaphores, linked data structures, and shared memory access is a plus.

The candidate should be able to work independently to develop products within the defined development process, and is responsible for activities throughout the entire process, from receiving requirements to design, implementation, and testing.

The candidate may be required to assume technical lead duties for certain projects. This would include knowing the status of the design team, understanding how other engineers work fits together, and reporting status to management on a regular basis.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience developing or using programmable logic controllers (PLC) or digital control systems (DCS), such as Foxboro I/A, Allen Bradley PLC 5, Honeywell TDC, General Electric Mark V, etc.df-tc
