Description
System Engineer/Architect/Administrators design, construct, test and implement basic integrated network hardware and software solutions, distributed computing solutions, and physical/logical communications networks. They monitor performance to identify and resolve system infrastructure problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain computer servers and peripherals.
- Develop backup and recovery strategies and monitor servers for capacity.
- Conduct performance tuning and develop long-term network strategies.
- Install software upgrades and manage hardware upgrades.
- Participate in system testing and develop system standards.
- Evaluate technologies and recommend new tools.
- Present solutions to clients.

Required Experience:

- More than five years of AIX on pSeries hardware p690's, p570, 6H1, etc. for 120+ servers
- LPAR maintenance
- System architecture/integration
- AIX 5.2 & 5.3
- TSM/ADSM
- DR/BCP
- HMC maintenance
- Microcode upgrades
- Sysback
- SAN with IBM abd Hitachi storage
- High availability/load balancing software
- GFPS
- DNS
- Shell scripting

Desired Experience:

- Linux on Intel and Linux on z/VM SP frames and SP administration
- SSA disk storage maintenance
