Description
UNIX SYTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

With a wide range of knowledge, maintains data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. Responsible for system security and data integrity. Assigns passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and responds to management requests for information. Provides technical guidance to less experienced systems administrators.

Customer Requirements:
Unix Systems Administrator

a)A four (4) Year Degree in Computer Science or Related Field

b)Five (5) Years Experience in computer applications, of which at least three (3) years must be specialized experience with UNIX Operating System Administration, Internals, and Shell Command Language.

c)At Least one (1) year Web Server Administration Experience

d)Experience performing Technical functions including enterprise server operations and maintenance, disk storage management, TCP/IP Networking, and performance tuning.

e)Demonstrated technical assistance, analysis of faulty program execution and problem resolution

f)Experienced interaction with other system administrators, Help Desk Support, Computer Operators, Applications Support Staff, Network Staff, Vendors and Users to maintain production environments.

g)Knowledge of information assurance and disaster recovery practices including experience with enterprise backup / recovery systems such as Legato Networker.

h)Experience with resource utilization analysis and system capacity analysis and planning.

i)Demonstrated planning and performing of software installations / upgrades, testing and maintenance.

j)Solid understanding data communications / open systems technologies, internetworking protocols including TCP/IP, FTP, PPP, HTTP, SNMP, SMTP.

k)Working Knowledge of the Domain Naming Service (DNS)df-tc
