 Work responsibilities may vary, depending upon assignment. A major function of this job is lifting and moving network equipment (10lbs to 50lbs) in a timely fashion as required by the customer.


GENERAL FUNCTION:

Using discretion and independent judgment, employee will assist the Sr System Administrator in providing Tier3 level support; and perform the following computer systems operations and maintenance support duties in accordance with the requirements of the contract Performance Work Statement.  Work will be performed in the Unclassified and/or Classified network environment as required.


           &nbs p;  Will provide courteous customer service to the end-user community all times, either in person or over the phone.


           &nbs p;  Analyze, test, modify, and manage the LAN/WAN infrastructure to include routers, switches, transceivers, CSU/DSU’s smart jacks, fiber optic (backbone) and CAT5 (premises) cabling, and LAN/WAN extension devices, Internet and Database administration to properly maintain IT systems and programs.


           &nbs p;  Analyze, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain software and hardware LAN/WAN components to include workstations, production and file servers, DNS, SUS, DHCP and Domain Controllers.


           &nbs p;  Proactively monitor application and/or system software and/or hardware operations and take corrective action to prevent outages or failures.
