Description

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design and implementation of Data Transfer scripts


- Responsible for ensuring the proactive monitoring/management of Data Transfer Services to provide maximum availability, performance and efficiency
- Responsible for Data Transfer Services with respect to implementation, documentation and support.
- Responsible for on-going maintenance of normal updates and assessing the criticality of hot fixes and patches
- Responsible for developing, documenting, testing and executing Disaster Recovery procedures to ensure Data Transfer Services can be restored quickly and completely
- Responsible for researching current and future technologies relevant to the delivery of  Data Transfer Services and submitting recommendations to management
- Proactive monitoring with automated notification of alerts
- Responsible for execution of Service Change Control Requests
- Ensures compliance and adherence to Global System Services standards and policies.
- Monitors, measures and reports on SLA compliance.
- Responsible for on-call support.


- Responsible for meeting with internal customers to obtain business requirements and resolve difficult issues.

Experience/Skills
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Extensive knowledge in scripting (VB, KIX, Batch )

1 to 3 years Visual Basic skills required
Knowledge of File Transfer Protocols as well as secure FTP


Working knowledge of Microsoft IIS/FTP (Versions 4, 5 & 6)


Relevant experience with TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, NAT, VPN,


Advanced knowledge of current Microsoft server/desktop Operating System software


Advanced knowledge of FTP and data transfer technologies


UNIX experience a plus


HTML & ASP development a plus


 


Good problem-solving; organizational; written and oral communication skills
Proven ability to prioritize, communicate problem status, escalate and coordinate with necessary workgroups.
