Description
Long term contract assignment for a Safety Engineer in the automotive industry to implement and manage a comprehensive Health and Safety program. This position will develop, implement, and verify activities that affect the organizational health and safety risks of the company=E2=80=99s activities, facilities, and processes.

This Safety Engineer will create, implement, and monitor a written Health and Safety program to comply with OSHA rules and regulations which includes a Health and Safety manual and a Health and Safety recordkeeping system. Will develop procedures which include a hazard communication program, emergency evacuation and seek shelter procedures, accident investigation procedures, fuel farm policies and procedures, engine test cell and chassis dyno cell usage procedures, and others.

In addition, will develop a national employee safety training program with topics to include: abrasive wheels, welding and cutting, metalworking machinery, woodworking machinery, personal protective equipment, automotive service operations, and others. Will perform regular safety audits; enforce NFPA, NEC, and OSHA codes; will develop an SPCC program; and will assist in developing programs such as a preventative maintenance program. Will create and present technical reports and perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, timecard, vacation requests, travel requests, etc.

Qualified candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills; excellent writing skills; and will be proficient in Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.df-tc
