Description
Although this position lists Chicago, IL, as the location, candidates can live anywhere in the Midwest USA. This position is with a manufacturer of high performance alloys for the connector industry. The Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and direction to customers in the interconnection market; providing alloy and coating recommendations and application related issues; gathering competitor material and coating information for review by marketing management; entering and tracking sample and trial orders for customer solutions; providing seminars and technical review sessions with customers and potential customers; development calls to customers with associated travel; promotion of products at industry trade shows; working on support literature; working with Marketing Management in developing plans for increasing and tracking market share; and providing reports to Marketing Management. Experience/Skills
Education: Bachelorâ??s degree required, EE or ME preferred.

Required skills: 5+ years experience in the connector or connector support industry; the ability to understand and explain technical concepts; leadership, sales and negotiating skills; excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills; general understanding of PCs and related software; and the ability to travel up to 75%.
