Description
The Sales Engineer (SE) has a unique but essential role in the Government Solutions organization. The primary purpose of the sales engineer is to increase sales and revenue to the Government Solutions channel. The span of responsibility ranges from prospecting for opportuates to ensuring services are ordered. The position will be responsible for developing a relationship with the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) for the purposes of selling AT&T products and services.
Qualifications:
- BS Engineering or equivalent college degree, MS/MBA a plus
- Knowledge of Federal Govenianent customers, especially FRB
- Five (5) or more years working with data technologies to include: If MPLS, Remote Access, VPN, IP Security, and Optical networks
- Knowledge of application and hosting/c-business, managed services, and professional services preferred
- Two (2) or more years working in a pre-sales environment with focus on solution selling
- Knowledge of equipment and services offered by one or more of the following vendors: Cisco, Nortel, Lucent, Avaya, Juniper, and Cienna
- Expert ltiting and oral presentation skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Prospecting ? the Ssles Engineer Will nicer with F to: 1) understand their unique business needs; 2) educate the customer on AT&T products and services 3) identi& potential AT&T sales opportunities- and 4) discuss how AT&T can solve FRB '5 business
needs.
Qualify ?the Sales Engineer will: 1) ensure that the FEB has a real and funded business need; 2) AT&T possesses the products and services to meet the business need; 3) evaluates competitive landscape for providing the products and services ensuring that AT&T possesses a solution that is technically competitive and cost effective; and 4) plays a key role in the qualification review.
Technical solutions Development ? the Sales Engineer will: I) develop and design a technical solution; 2) present the solution and the value proposition; 3) persuade the FEB that AT&T offers the most compelling solution; 4) work with key subcontractor parthers to complete a solution; 4) develop proposal responses; 5) answer technical customer objections; and 5) contribute to all customer solution testing and demonstrationsdf-tc
