Functional Responsibilities:
The Sales Engineer for IPT Sales is a critical role for the success of the IPT Sales product line. We have over fifteen years experience in managing customer networks. Our proven track record and innovative service make us a leader in the managed network services market.

Reporting to the Sales Engineering Manager, the Sales Engineer is responsible for the following:

Identify, qualify, design, develop, present and assist the pre-sales efforts of the IPT Services Sales Team
Design and drive technical presentations with customers resulting in closed sales opportunities
Perform as the lead technical member of account/sales team
Assist in development and delivery of training sessions to the direct sales and technical teams
Analyze needs of the Sales team and create supporting documentation or tools to better equip the team in the sales process
Share knowledge and experience to enhance the technical capabilities of peers
Achieve mastery (Technical, Product, Competitive, Industry knowledge and Sales Acumen) of IPT Services service and product offering

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering preferred. Candidates with a bachelors degree in other areas and equivalent business experience may be considered
A minimum of 5-8 years in information technology and 3+ years experience in data networking. Looking for a person who can cite recent examples of successful design, installations and configurations.

Avaya: High level of proficiency with Avaya IP products and Avaya Hosted IP Telephony
Avaya Communication Manager voice application software and Avaya Secure Services Gateway (SSG)
Avaya S8700 Media Server or the IBM eServer BladeCenter HS20 Server (IBM Blade Server)
Avaya G350, G650, and G700 Media Gateways
Avaya 4600 Series IP telephones and IP Softphones
Avaya Design, Implementation, Management, and Maintenance services
Avaya Hosted Business Messaging
Optional Managed Services
Should be an expert in Hosted IP Telephony interconnects with a carrier-provided IP trunking service, should know service provider call routing plans between hosted enterprises and PSTN endpoints.
Qualified candidate are required to have the highest degree of Avaya certifications such ACE and ACS. Candidates are required to demonstrate an expert level of comprehension and hands on experience for the entire sale cycle, installation, implementation, management and troubleshooting of Avaya IP Telephony systems.

Cisco: High proficiency with Cisco routers, switches(IOS/CatOs).
Working knowledge of: VoIP, QoS, Cisco AVVID, CCM, CCME, Unity.
Strong familiarity with Cisco configuration tools.
Comprehensive knowledge of emerging network technologies and protocols.
Strong verbal and written communication and customer interface skills are mandatory

The ideal candidate will have detailed knowledge of Legacy TDM / PSTN and IP Telephony managed solutions and strong technical expertise complimented by vendor certifications. The candidate will have a minimum of five years or more experience in Cisco AVVID, Avaya, and Nortel sales and technical presales support. Specifically this person will:

Have exceptional knowledge of the network services market focusing on network and premise Based IPT services
Extensive hands on level of expertise with Managed VoIP over Carrier WAN, Managed IP Telephony, Hosted IP-PBX, IP Centrex, Managed IP-PBX and all related components including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Voice Gateways, Gatekeepers, LAN/WAN and VOIP phones.
Extensive knowledge of Nortel and Avaya IP Telephony architecture is a must.
Experience with multi-site configurations and hybrid (IP & TDM) environments, in a consulting or large system administration role, within Fortune 1000 companies is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (technical documentation and client communication)
Possess a well-established track record of delivering on developed strategies and specific objectives on time and at budget.
Have had experience leading and/or participating on cross-functional teams to win new business and grow market share.
Have acquired or the ability to acquire industry and MCI specific technical certifications
