Sales Engineer

Our client is a leading vendor of equipment and network testing products for the Enterprise, Telecom/ Network Service Provider and Telecoms Equipment manufacturer markets. They are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to support sales of these systems specifically to Telecom/ Network Service Provider and Telecoms Equipment manufacturer markets. This position can be located in any major Metropolitan area on the Eastern Seaboard. It can be a virtual office position, and candidates must be within 45 minutes of a major airport.

Responsibilities:

In this position, the Sales Engineer will be a key strategic player on the sales team. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for creating, developing and owning the technical relationship with the customer.
Understand our client?s product portfolio and be able to articulate solutions to customers.
Coordinating the company?s resources to resolve all pre and post sales technical issues that affect revenue.
Identify new opportunities at existing accounts.
Understanding competitor?s strengths and weaknesses relative to our client?s technical strategy.
Perform product demonstrations and evaluations.
Act as a conduit for critical technical information flowing in and out of headquarters in order to influence strategic product strategy direction.
Communicate product strategy to appropriate sales personnel.
Be able to understand both current and future customer architecture directions and properly position the firm?s product roadmaps to meet customer needs.
Provide timely feedback to the factory on product and strategy issues to ensure that the firm is capable of responding to and /or anticipating changes to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
3-5 years in telecom convergence industry in a technical role.
Demonstrated debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Solid networking skills (TCP/IP, UDP)
Ability to learn new technologies and solve problems
Solid technical knowledge with emphasis on telecom, test methodologies, voice/data integration, & industry standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and provide value as a member of a team
Scripting and programming experience.
Specific knowledge of SIP, MGCP/NCS,H323,ISDN,SS7 and CAS protocols.
Megaco, Sigtran, SCCP/Skinny, and knowledge of IP media are a plus.
25-35% domestic travel required.
Candidates with knowledge of the following firms' products preferred: Ameritec, Acterna/ JDSU, Spirent, Visual Networks, iNET, Radcom, Tekelec.df-tc
