Get into the Satellite Communication IndustryRobert Half Technology is working with a local division of a Fortune 100 Communications company. This is the chance to work in a company that has the “small shop” agility and fell supported by the large corporate financials and stability. We, at Robert Half Technology, are looking for a Field Network Technician to travel the globe installing, repairing, and maintaining satellite data feed systems for one of the largest Telecommunications companies in existence today. You will be traveling to new locations requisitioning parts, equipment, and personnel from local affiliates to develop the client’s satellite communication system. If you enjoy visiting new places, meeting new people and serving as the subject matter expert wherever you go; this is the opportunity for you. The training is outstanding. Experience/Skills
Requirements:QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Previous experience working with field installation and maintenance personnel in a technical role. • Extensive knowledge on the theory and operation of satellite transceivers, modems, antennas and control systems. • The majority of the satellite knowledge can be taught and trained so previous experience in this specifically is not required but would be a bonus.• The ability to travel extensively 50% of the time, documenting travel, work performed and remitting paperwork pertaining to travel in a timely manner. • Clean background and driving record required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years of satellite, VSAT, installation and maintenance experience. Prior field service work involving troubleshooting of systems, networks and computers. Ability to perform with minimal assistance, ability to solve complex issues while on a customer’s premises. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Travel between 50-75%. Usually comes in bounces. Anywhere in the Western Hemisphere but typically in the continental US.ACCOUNTABILITIES: Use of company vehicles within company guidelines. Produce and maintain travel, training and quality reports as needed. Other duties may be assigned.
