Description
SECRET CLEARANCE Develop processes for verification of meteorological model forecasts, web access to graphical verification products, and software improvement. Write and maintain C language programs, KRON shell scripts, IDL programs, and HTML web pages. Configuration management of development processes and verification of space weather forecasts. Develop change management process, and brief process to Quality Control team.

General Position Description
Plans, conducts, and coordinates scientific programming application activities in support of research, engineering, and other related technical activities. Analyzes scientific applications and writes computer programs that contain logical and mathematical solutions to scientific problems or questions. Develops statements of problems and codes into computer language for solution by means of data processing equipment. Applies knowledge of computer processes, scientific subject matter to be programmed, and input from various users to develop and test programs. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Typical Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.df-tc
