Job Description:
Support security compliance and assessment activities in support of the MBDSS program at he Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The MBDSS program covers all lifecycle activities to support the following areas of the Medicare Beneficiary Data Base Suite of services (MBDSS): MBDSS system and data base architecture; applications associated with MBD; and production operations of the MBDSS. The MBDSS is primarily a mainframe based, DB2 system, utilizing CICS and Websphere MQ Series. There are additional components of the system running in a Sun Solaris, Oracle mid-tier environment that support web-base applications. The database is the authoritative source of beneficiary-centric data including demographic, entitlement, eligibility and enrollment information.

Job Requirements:
* 7 + years total experience.
* Hands-on experience implementing security in applications running in both mainframe and multi-tiered environments.
* Specific experience writing and implementing security certification and accreditation programs for complex systems operating in large Government data centers, including web-based portals.
* 5+ years of experience with IT security and HIPAA risk assessment and compliance.
* CISSP certification a big plus.
* Experience with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and NIST Special Publications required.
* Ensure that the transmission of Protected Health Information are in full compliance with the Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act, HIPAA, and all other federal laws and regulations, as well as all Medicare regulations, directives, instructions, and manuals.
* Develop overall security program and review changes to federal regulations/guidelines to ensure compliance. Support development and implementation of all administrative, technical, and physical safeguards for the program and system being developed.
