Security Assessment Engineer

We are adding a Network Security Engineer to our team.

This position is part of Berbee's Cisco Practice, a single-source provider to our clients for all things Cisco. We have more than 125 Cisco Certified Engineers on staff, including engineers for network infrastructure, unified communications, contact center, IP telephony application development, security, storage, and wireless. Our dedicated staff of security engineers posses a broad range of expertise, backgrounds, and certifications and are trained, certified, and experienced in implementing many security-based technology solutions. With more than seven years of Voice over IP experience, Berbee has completed more than 1,000 Cisco IP Communication projects. Berbee is a Cisco Gold Certified Partner and has been named IP Communications Partner of the Year for both 2005 and 2004, marking five straight years of Cisco Partner awards due to our high customer service ratings and advanced technology expertise.

This position will be part of the dynamic team in our Cleveland Ohio office. Berbee information Networks is the predominant Cisco, IBM and Microsoft solutions provider in Northeast Ohio. Responsibilities:

? Perform enterprise-scale network and computer infrastructure security assessments for customers.
? Provide network security technical support and consultation to customers and internal resources.
? Communicate security policy and technology issues verbally on both a formal and informal basis to all levels of client staff, ranging from senior executives to user representatives. Deal with client discussions in an unstructured interview environment and produce high-quality written technical documents.
? Advise customers and sales staff regarding the selection of products or services necessary to support network security practices.
? Work independently on multiple projects in diverse customer environments, ensure that appropriate management is apprised of project status, and bring projects to completion.
? Gain a clear understanding of client environment, identify client needs, and effectively communicate solutions.
? Develop and complete an education plan to grow your skills consistent with client needs.
? Conduct research on security topics, and develop tools to assist security team activities.


Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
? Five years of network or systems engineering and system administration experience, with an emphasis on network and system security.
? Demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.
? LAN/WAN internetworking technology, including network and application protocols
? Programming experience in several common languages
? Knowledge of one or more security specialty areas such as Policy, Disaster Avoidance & Recovery Planning, Technical Investigations, Intrusion Prevention techniques and tools, Risk Analysis
? Advanced knowledge of the following technology areas: network security practices, audits, planning, design, implementation, testing, and management
? Network Security assessment tools and techniques
? Ability to identify client needs and recommend appropriate solutions
? Network Operating Systems
? Network architecture and protocols
? Ability to establish and maintain a high level of client trust and confidence
? Experience in writing proposals and technical do
