Description
Prestigious Trading Firm, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a Security Director with indusytry experience. Candidate will lead the definition of policies, define work practices and implement procedures across the firm's global technology platform.

Principle Accountabilities

1. Establish and Maintain Security Policies, Practices and Procedures. Develop and maintain detailed security policies that document the standards in each of the critical areas for the company. Work closely with the management team to define and update the policy and to develop processes for communication of the policies and standards.

2. Secure Documentation. Implement a repository (SharePoint) for securing documents for trade strategies and other intellectual property. Establish security access levels, rollout and monitoring tools to control sensitive information.

3. Develop and Maintain Security Profiles. Develop and implement standardized security profiles based on job function and responsibilities. Ensure consistent administration of the profiles. Implement a system of password change management.

4. Authentication Methods. Work with the IT Management Team to define authentication methods to enable developers and Quantitative Analysts to access appropriate data files/programs, as well as develop monitoring and logging tools.

5. Disaster Recovery. Implement and maintain the DRP, updating as needed over time.

6. Network and Internet Firewalls. Work closely with the Network Administrators to ensure that the network is secure, firewalls are maintained and periodic intruder testing is conducted.

7. Change Management. Work with the IT Management team to enhance change management processes to ensure sound practices for sign-off and installation.

8. Business Continuity. Develop and maintain a business continuity plan whereby certain scenarios are defined and procedures are documents and communicated in the event a situation occurs. Work closely with IT, Operations and the CFO to develop, implement and periodically test the plan.

9. Cultural environment. Work to create an environment whereby "security and controls" are a part of the business strategy through monitoring, training and leveraging our staff to self-police the policy and procedures.

10. As growth continues, ensure adequate and global security strategies and methods are implemented and maintained across locations.

11. Provide strong leadership to assigned team, ensuring high performance standards are met and productivity is measured and optimized.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent with emphasis on computer science

2. A minimum of 10 years experience in a senior level security position, preferably in the financial services/trading industry.

3. Strong leadership of functional area and throught leader in the areas of security and intellectual property.

4. The ability to communicate well in a professional manner, in both written and oral form, with members at all levels of the organization, as well as third parties
