Summary:
The Security Director is responsible for developing a security policy for all corporate data and physical locations. The position coordinates security efforts within all departments of the company and develops, implements, monitors and enhances an information security program. The security manager develops an audit and review program to assure security policy and procedures are being followed. This position must be able to function in a strong team environment and utilize matrixed resources to accomplish security goals.

Duties & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
? Assess current environment for vulnerabilities and mitigate within sixty days of employment
? Establish electronic and physical policies and plans within 90 days and an overall corporate IT security policy within six months of employment
? Develop and enforce security programs resulting in zero serious security breaches on an annual basis
? Work with all IT departments on all security violations including attempts, resolving or countering all attempted violations with 1 hour
? Educate company personnel quarterly of security efforts and concerns
? Conduct network, system and physical security audits at a rate of not less than one every 90 days
? Implement security safeguards, monitoring, investigating and resolving attempts to circumvent security mechanisms on a daily basis
? Provide research and development of new and enhanced security technologies as they apply to internal and external applications as part of monthly status reports
? Recommend effective security measures for applications, networks, systems and financial controls
? Maintain a realistic vision of security within the network infrastructure
? Work with application development personnel to insure adherence to corporate security policy
? Responsible for establishing, planning and coordinating the corporate disaster recovery and backup plans and the auditing of the execution of the plans in the network and systems areas
? Responsible for continually evaluating and certifying the corporate intrusion detection systems

Manage matrixed teams in performance of security activities

Qualifications:
? Multi-platform experience and knowledge (Windows, Unix, Linux)
? Strong technical background
? Familiar with current legislation and regulations affecting information security
? Possess strong knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPN and VLAN products
? Working knowledge of management and simulations tools. (MS Project, Excel, Visio, etc.)
? Excellent written and oral communications skills

Experience, Education, Certifications:
Experience:
? Minimum 6 years experience in information security
? Minimum two to four years managing an information security program, including the development of security strategies
Education:
? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related experience
Certifications:
? CISSP, GIAC or CISA certification highly desirable
