ASSIGNMENTCAPSULE
The Senior Software Engineer designs and develops software applications for use by CAC Florida Medical Centers. Assists the Director of IS in defining appropriate coding standards and procedures and serves as a mentor to other software engineers. This position includes writing detailed design documentation and responsibility for incorporating new software technologies into the CAC Florida Medical Centers' computing infrastructure.

  • Responsible for maximizing efficiency and reusability of programs.

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • In depth knowledge of programming and ability to design software based on provided specifications.
  • This individual assists in the definition of coding standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to program in a Windows-based RAD environment using Visual Studio.Net, C# and Microsoft SQL-Server.
  • Also requires expertise in designing SQL database structures and understanding the impact of those structures on the performance of the applications being developed.
  • Must be able to understand current technology and the value of its inclusion into the computing infrastructure.
  • Highly desirable skills include: Visual Studio.NET, C#, MS-SQL Server, Crystal Reports, Unix, Linux, Windows XP, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Must be able to perform daily activities, meeting high quality standards and using his/her independent judgment following standards and regulations.
  • Able to respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be able to follow policies and procedures and work flexible schedule and location.
  • Must be able to relate well with all levels of individuals within the organization.


ROLE ESSENTIALS
  • Bachelors (BA/BS) Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of programming experience.
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently.


ROLEDESIRABLES
  • Bachelor Degree (BA/BS) in IS related field
  • 6-7 years programming experience; preferably within the Healthcare industry
  • Project Management (MS-Project) experience
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
