Job Title: Senior Accounting Clerk

Job Description:
This position is responsible for the oversight of the generation of timely and accurate billing and accounts receivable functions for self insured clients that are on a checks cleared funding arrangement. This position is accountable for overseeing the financial controls and manages general accounting functions including management of unique banking arrangements, claim funding mechanisms, and monthly/annual financial reconciliations.

1. Ensures the timely preparation, analysis, completion, and releasing of self insured billing on a daily, weekly, and monthly frequency. Invoices include compilation of claims, administrative expenses, GME/NYCHRA, and miscellaneous off system charges. 2. Generates accounts receivable reporting which includes analysis of general ledger accounts receivable accounts and related premium accounts for the accuracy and maintenance of transactions in the general ledger for the preparation of financial statements. 3. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of month end accounting entries for SHBP and checks cleared funding.

Additional Skills:
Requires knowledge of (GAAP) General Accepted Accounting Principles.
Requires working knowledge of personal computers and supporting windows based environment including MS Access, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, ect), and Word.
Requires knowledge general ledger system, preferable PeopleSoft.
Requires a demonstrated aptitude for analytical thinking and the ability to report findings in an accurate manner.
Requires the ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Requires attention to detail at granular levels of financial reporting.
