Description
This position is for a senior level engineer to lead the aerodynamic development of an aircraft designed to meet FAR 23 requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1.Benchmark research 2.Stability and control prediction 3.Performance prediction 4.Aircraft preliminary sizing 5.Flight modeling and simulation 6.Wind tunnel test planning and execution 7.Data reduction and analysis 8.Report writing Additional responsibilities to include, but not limited to: 1.Prepare and present information to middle and upper level management. 2.Aerodynamic support for various ground and flight test activities as needed. All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or have Permanent Resident status. SKILLS >> 1.Experience with Matlab, simulation, and CFD software to solve, report, and present engineering problems and concepts as needed. 2.Familiarity with FAA design standards. 3.Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work in a diverse group, under pressure to meet deadlines with a high degree technical quality, and the ability to plan and schedule work 4.Experience in wind tunnel test planning, conduct, and data reduction. 5.A working knowledge of CFD and experience correlating CFD and wind tunnel predictions to flight test results and applying Reynolds number corrections. 6.Familiarity with structural requirements and aerodynamic loads development 7.A strong desire to work in a multi-cultural environment. 8.Ability to multi-task, work independently, and within a creative team. 9.Proficient in MS Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) EDUCATION >> The ideal candidate will have: 1.A bachelors or masters degree in Aerospace Engineering. 2.A minimum of 10 years experience with 3 of those years in a leadership position.df-tc
