Senior Analyst (0678)

BASIC FUNCTION:
As part of M&T’s Technology & Banking Operations the Sr. Analyst would provide designs and specifies information systems solutions to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Evaluates client requirements and processes, develops and prepares application programs which may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Performs day-to-day support activities and special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs basic to complex systems analysis, design, and programming. 
Plays a key role as an individual contributor on complex projects. 
Assists the client in addressing problems/issues of any scope. 
Determines feasible solutions and makes recommendations.
Participate with systems analysts, operations staff and IT staff, as appropriate in overall systems and integrated testing on small to medium scope efforts or on specific phases of larger projects. 
Prepares test data and executes detailed test plans. 
Performs any required debugging.
Must be able to direct junior resources and coordinate systems development tasks on small to medium scope efforts or on specific phases of large projects. 
May project manage small to medium scope efforts.
Uses available resources to develop complete and clear technical specifications for small to medium scope efforts. 
Review documentation prepared by more junior programmers. 
Updates systems documentation. 
Prepares charts, tables and diagrams to assist analyzing problems.
Follows and promotes the use of development standards and procedures.
Maintains very good working knowledge of the supporting applications, development environments, and the supported client environment.
The position supports applications mainly within the Credit Division of the bank. 
The applications are on the distributed platform – vendor and in house. 
Thorough understanding of the distributed computing environment is essential:  servers, networking, security. 
Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft’s .NET framework and programming in VB is a must.  Knowledge of RDBM, specifically SQL Server is required.
The position requires background in programming.

Able to work in an onshore/offshore development model.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
ASP.NET using VB.
Microsoft development tool sets – Visual Studios. 
Windows O/S. Knowledge of structured programming.
HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Through knowledge of system development life cycle.
Minimum of 2 – 4 years of college with experience in technology or 4+ years experience in a related technical environment
