Summary:

Working closely with IT management and support functions, candidate will be responsible for providing programming and application support to Financial business.


Description:

Reporting to a Vice President / Project Manager of the IT applications group, applicant will participate in the design and development of cross functional and integrated solutions in support of Risk Management, New Business and Insured Portfolio Management.


Specific Responsibilities:

Modify existing and/or development of new ASP / Winform C# .Net n-tier applications built on the .net framework interfacing with Oracle backend databases

Complete project, application and change control documentation as required

Perform support responsibilities for existing applications.

Contribute within a team environment on requirement gathering, application design & development, QA testing and deployment activities.

Candidate must be able to work independently, as well as with a team


Qualifications:

At least 3+ years of experience in application development.

Must have excellent analytic skills and a strong willingness to learn.

Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Experience developing applications within a service oriented architecture is a plus.

Experience with developing applications within Financial Services / Investment Banking industries are a plus

Decision Making / Difficulty of Work:

Must be able to effectively work independently while communicating progress to management and business customers.

Must be able multi-task effectively and respond to multiple demands in an efficient, timely and tactful manner.


Education:

BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or similar is desired.


Computer Skills:

Technical Skills Required: Visual Studio .NET, C#, XML, Oracle 9i, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL. Equivalent SQL Server expertise would be acceptable, but Oracle is preferred.

Technical Skills Preferred: C++, JAVA, Dreamweaver, Visual Basic, Essbase, Visio, UNIX, Crystal Reports, Impromptu, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Sharepoint, Data Modeling


Interpersonal Skills:

Good interpersonal skills are essential. Position requires collaboration with other members of IT and internal business customers.


Communication Skills:

Must have excellent communication skills.df-tc
