Description
The main focus of this position will be working hands-on with different technologies towards the completion of IT projects for the business. As a senior development position, responsibilities will also include system design, communication with the business users, organizing meetings, task prioritization, and time management. This position requires a high level of motivation and the ability to be persistent and work independently. The ability to handle multiple requests and ensure that all work is completed and thoroughly tested is a must. Due to the critical importance of the data, great attention to detail must be paid to all tasks.--------------------------------------------------------------------JOB DUTIES:It is important that any candidate have strong conceptual database design and SQL skills due to our role as a data and solutions provider for the investment business, which relies heavily on external data sources. Strong communication and organization skills are a must as we often coordinate our development efforts or even jointly develop applications with offices in other locations. Daily tasks would include: ASP.NET web page and control development Strategic enhancement and maintenance of existing applications ( VB6, COM, etc.) Stored procedure development (Oracle and SQL Server) Process and code documentation Technical design Communicating with business, other developers, and group head Technologies used include but are not limited to VB6, COM, COM+, HTML, ASP.NET ( C# and VB.NET), SQL Server 2000, and Oracle.

Requirements:

5+ years experience in IT software development Experience with investment management industry trading or decision support applications Good communication / writing skills Excellent problem solving skills Strong analysis skills Database design expertise System design expertise Strong object oriented design skills Highly motivated team player Self-starter Positive attitude, drive, commitment, perseverance Experience with VB6, COM, COM+, HTML, ASP.NET (.NET general), SQL Server 2000, and Oracle Familiarity with CAPM models a plus
