We have an immediate need for a Senior Application Developer - Oracle

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under general direction, designs, implements and maintains complex application systems built on Oracle technology. The successful candidate excels in problem solving skills, strategic thinking, and working in a team oriented environment. Collaborates with technical and business resources, gathers and documents requirements, formulates action plans. Strong oral and written communication skills are required as well as strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a team oriented environment. Works with other developers, DBAs, BSAs, and system administration staff to diagnose issues and create solutions.

Education, Skills, and Requirements

- RDBMS/Oracle, advanced SQL, SQL performance tuning, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers.
- Oracle Forms (6i or higher)
- Unix, Unix shell programming, Unix scripting language, e.g. sed, awk, perl.
- High complexity enterprise applications.
- Ability to work under pressure when needed.
- Batch processing.
- Change management/version control systems.
- Application development experience on large RDBMS based business applications.
- Application development lifecycle phases including design, development, testing, production.

Preferred Skills

- Insurance experience with workers compensation policy and claims a plus (other financial experience also a plus)

- Experience with following technologies a plus:

- Oracle Forms 10g

- Oracle/Hyperion SQR

- Data feeds, extracts and loads

- Experience with CINCOM

- Experience with Postscript

- Pro*C

- Batch jobs

- Java
