JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We're looking for a Senior Java Swing GUI Application Developer employee (or consultant) to be part of a Java development team working with middle tier (server) Java developers and back end mainframe developers. This job involves providing a number of support services to a GUI team, working closely with existing servlets and EJBs, and communication patterns with the host/mainframe. Where necessary improvement can be demonstrated and its cost beneficial we'll ask developers to make those improvements.

More than 5 years of Java and Swing development with a background in object oriented programming are a must. Experience in WSAD for Java, WebSphere, Security authentication, XML, JSuite/PVBeans, JClass, and imbedded HTML would be a plus. Experience in SQL, DB2, Crystal Reports, C++, and knowledge of Health Insurance Patient Management Systems would also be a plus.

This job requires thorough responsibility for coding to a written specification, being entirely responsible for your own work and occasionally expanding your horizons beyond your immediate responsibility. The ability to work both independently and within the context of a team is a must. Effective communication is critical. We're looking for a minimum of BS degree in Computer Science or related fields, and superior communication skills.

SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Java applet and application development experience, Swing, WASD, WebSphere, Jbuilder, PVCS, VSS, Java, XML, HTML and C++.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
Design and development of objects and components which are part of a large-scale transaction processing system using three tier architecture.

Patient management systems is responsible for all systems which are used internally by Aetna medical staff when working with external doctors and our members
