If you are an experienced Senior Applications Developer with a strong background in Discovery Informatics looking to work for an exciting Biopharmaceutical company in the Bay area please read on!

We are established drug discovery and development biopharmaceutical company with an immediate need for a full time permanent Senior Applications Developer.

You will work as a valued member of the Software Architecture team in Discovery Informatics on the continued development and evolution of our heterogeneous n-tiered web application infrastructure. This is a heavily cross-matrixed environment in which you will propose technical solutions that favor robust commercial and/or open source technology and subsequent integration, develop in-house core technologies as appropriate and focus on the timely delivery of sustainable and maintainable solutions.

This position requires a Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Chemistry, Biology and/or Computer Science with experience in drug discovery.

Additional Requirements:

*Strong development expertise in Java, J2EE, Web Services, XML/XSL, SQL, Oracle, and Hibernate.

*Python and web application development using Struts and client-side Javascript.

*Other Java frameworks such as Stripes, Java Faces, and/or Spring is highly preferred, likewise for Python frameworks such as TurboGears.

*Experience in CSS, HTML, DHTML, and AJAX libraries (Dojo, MochiKit).

*Experience spanning all three tiers highly preferred, however, development experience in at least one of the tiers (client, middle, and server) is required.

*Development experience in a clustered Linux/Apache/Tomcat/JBoss environment.

This Experience would be Highly Desired:

*Development experience in Oracle PL/SQL, and in data warehousing (Oracle Warehouse Builder).

*Experience in developing cross and multi platform applications (Unix, Linux, and Windows).

*Experience with SVN source control, Ant, RPM, and automated build and test systems.
