Description
The Senior Business Process Designer is responsible for developing strategic business processes in all areas of the company, including direct business areas such as store operations, marketing, procurement, and supply chain and corporate staff functions (i.e., finance, administration, and human resources departments). In addition, the position is responsible for understanding the Companys business strategies and designing the processes required to execute those strategies. Also, the Business Process Designer analyzes the impact of those strategies on the various business functions and develops the best approach for resolving business process issues. He/she defines and documents current and future-state business processes, identifying process improvement needs and developing plans to implement suggested improvements. He/she is also accountable for driving the development of the company's Enterprise Process Map a complete picture of the future business model. The Business Process Designer also interacts with other process groups (including Six Sigma quality improvement efforts) to help ensure integration of process improvement efforts. The Senior Business Process Designer acts as an advisor to strategic IT and business projects and programs to ensure proper and timely development of the Business Process Definition artifact in APEX. This responsibility is in addition to the Senior Business Process Designers primary responsibility of providing direction and influence to process development efforts as assigned by the Director of Business Process Services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify process improvement needs and potential solutions Design streamlined enterprise-level business processes that increase efficiencies, decrease cost, and help the Company meet its strategic objectives Guide and mentor projects in process improvement efforts Maintain an enterprise-level view of business process development, identifying cross-functional touch points and interdependencies Lead and guide development of the Enterprise Process Map Lead development of process documentation standards Build relationships with senior business management to understand and document business strategies; build relationships with business unit leadership and associates to understand and document business processes (future-state) Coach and mentor business process development efforts of Business Process Designers, Business Analysts, and Senior Business Analysts Provide support to business units in defining or designing business processes based on business requirements and available technologies Maintain business processes to ensure accuracy of current- and future-state process information Work with Account Managers and senior management to understand business priorities; consult with subject matter experts to develop potential business and technology solutions; advise on impact to business processes Recommend and implement best practice process development practices within the Business Process Services team Facilitate working sessions to develop current and future state process maps Keep IT group and business unit management aware of issues and potential potholes related to business processes and help resolve related conflicts Understand retail industry trends and research best practices Ensure the timely and accurate completion of the Business Process Definition artifact in APEX as assigned by the Business Process Services project coordinator JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering and/or Business Three or more years of relevant business area experience in which the following occurred: 1. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with strong abilities in relationship management 2. Participation on multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups, preferably in a leadership capacity 3.
