We have an immediate need for a Senior Business Systems Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Manager of Business Systems Analysis

Purpose of Position:
A Senior Business Systems Analyst must explore, understand, analyze and document Business application functionality with sufficient technical detail that facilitates the development of usable, effective solutions to both on-shore and off-shore development. A strong emphasis will be placed on conducting a thorough technical analysis for the development of medium to large-scale applications with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:
Key Activities:
1. Work concurrently on multiple projects and on medium to large-scale, strategic application projects with minimal supervision.
2. Using the RAVEN documentation tool, provide more thorough documentation that can be used by off-shore development and quality assurance teams. Additional documentation artifacts include (1) business rules (2). Data dictionaries (3). User interface mockups (4). User Acceptance Tests (5). Data validations (6). Any graphical images as may be necessary.
3. Where appropriate, use a prototyping tool to develop working prototypes to facilitate user requirements elicitation.
4. Interview Business Unit and Customer Users as well as Subject-Matter-Experts to understand a Projects Problem Domain and the Functionality and Features required.
5. Conduct detailed Business and Systems Analysis to thoroughly explore the Problem Domains Vision, Key Features, User Roles, Objects, Business Rules, Workflows and Use Cases.
6. Accurately capture and document the functional needs of User Roles as a means to reveal what is needed and not how.
7. Accurately capture and document the discussion and agreements reached during project meetings which discuss features and business rules.
8. Assume lead accountability of the challenging effort to thoroughly understand and describe Business functional needs in a manner that supports their implementation as a computer-based solution.
9. Perform User Acceptance Testing and, if needed, research, analyze and assist in the resolution of user errors and system problems.
Key Deliverables:
1. Working prototypes and mockups when appropriate or directed.
2. Agile BRDs contain the Vision Statement, Key Features, User Roles, Objects, Workflows, Business Rules and Product Backlog Entries (Use Cases)
3. Detail BRDs describe Use Cases in the Agile BRD in more detail as well as provide any supporting tables, graphics, technical analysis, and other communication artifacts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Demonstrated knowledge and competency performing comprehensive analysis of complex business applications and effectively documenting that solution to be delivered. Ability to interact and communicate with business unit and technical personnel including off-shore teams with equal effectiveness. Demonstrated skill interviewing subject matter experts and eliciting a thorough and comprehensive description of the problem domain and the functionality needed.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor-level college degree in computer science or business degrees with computer specializations or equivalent experience.
