You will be responsible for ongoing developing of the core search engine components of our distributed real-time internet scale system. Many of our technologies incorporate familiar concepts from web search, but many do not: you must have the drive and ability to invent multiple solutions to unfamiliar problems ranging from product quality, to performance, to new feature development. This is a technical leadership position requiring a high-energy, goal-oriented, self-motivated individual.

High quality software development: owning design, coding, and documentation, and development process issues
Full lifecycle responsibility: concept, prototype, construction, deployment, and measurement
Invent and prototype improvements to search quality, in cooperation with product management and research
Collaborate with product management to refine and prioritize new requirements
Facilitate co-development, conceiving, documenting, and implementing durable interfaces with other components

Job Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years software engineering experience developing products in Linux/UNIX environment
Industrial experience using Extreme Programming and/or Agile methods preferred
Expert level knowledge of object oriented design and coding and multi-threaded implementation in C++
Experience developing and deploying software infrastructure/platforms for large scale, high performance systems
Outstanding communication skills and a track record of achievement in a dynamic team development environment
BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Development experience in information retrieval, algorithms, computational linguistics, etc, preferred
