Senior Cognos Developer-AnalystLocation: CA-Walnut CreekJob Description: Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT), a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the pet and lawn and garden supplies markets, is searching for a Senior Cognos Developer/Analyst to join the team located in Walnut Creek, CA. Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, the Senior Cognos Developer/Analyst will be involved in analysis, design and implementation of business intelligence and reporting solutions for the company. This is a principal engineer level position and requires deep experience in Data Warehouse design, data modeling and ETL data mapping, and reporting. Key Responsibilities*
  • Partner with our BI team members to design and deliver new Enterprise Data Warehouse capabilities for our existing customers (data modeling, ETL, performance optimization)*
  • Provide second-level production support as required to troubleshoot issues related to reports/cubes, database, ETL, and reports*
  • Collaborate directly with end users on select projects to define, design and implement new reporting solutions or subject areas *
  • Work closely with other BI team members on recommending improvements related to all aspects of our Data Warehouse architecture and data design *
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of best practices and standards*
  • Support master data management activities*
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned Experience / Skills / Education *
  • BS/BA in computer technology or related field preferred*
  • Minimum 7 years of data warehousing experience*
  • Technical: Oracle, Informatica ETL, Cognos experience *
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and documentation skills*
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing a full lifecycle, multi-subject area data warehouse with an iterative life cycle methodology*
  • Experience in implementing solutions for large consumer package goods companiesdf-tc
