Senior Cognos Planning DeveloperLocation: Foster City, CAJob Description:Client's Finance Team is searching for an experienced Cognos Enterprise Planning developer. This position will be part of the Business Intelligence Systems group and will be responsible for supporting the existing Cognos Planning & Forecasting process. The candidate will also be responsible for enhancing and maintaining existing Cognos Planning models and the full Cognos Planning infrastructure from Cognos Analyst through Cognos Contributor. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the Financial forecasting and reporting process. Using this knowledge, the candidate will meet with cross-functional Finance groups to gather requirements and develop Cognos Planning solutions. Primary Job Function Maintain, enhance, and expand several Cognos Planning financial models utilizing Cognos Analyst and Cognos contributor. Working in conjunction with the Financial Planning & Forecasting team, support the quarterly forecasting process. Lead the development of test plans and coordinate all QA user acceptance activities around the planning and forecasting process. Drive the design and development of EP solutions based on information gathered through requirements analysis, interviews and workshops. Using various Cognos 8 BI analysis tools, assist in the analysis and reporting of financial planning data. Produce clearly written and well organized design, administrative and end-user documentation. Knowledge of relational database systems. Microsoft SQL* Server preferred. Financial planning experience. Demonstrated experience working in a Finance organization is highly desirable. Experience with Cognos & BI tool suite is a big plus.Additional Skills: Complete knowledge of the Cognos Enterprise Planning suite. This includes knowledge of model development through Cognos Analyst and creation of the Contributor Web sites through the Contributor Admin Console.Hire Details: Good communication skills, written documentation & collaboration. Ability to work with internal customers to obtain requirements and manage expectations. A B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or Computer Science is required.df-tc
