CTA Communications, a division of HSMM AECOM, is searching for aTelecommunications Engineer IV to:

Lead the design of wireless communications sytstems - two-way radio, mobile data, paging, automatic vehicle location, as well as the telecommunications network.
Write reports and specifications, conduct interviews and facility surveys, estimate budgetary costs, evaluate vendor proposals, and provide recommendations to clients.
Coordinate all technical activities related to assignments.
Interpret technologies for client, translating technical considerations into operational impact.
Provide written correspondence and oral presentations to clients.
Technical oversight of contractor work - review designs, change requests, schedule costs, installation and test plans, cutover plans, training plans, etc. Inspect completed work and witness tests; approve contractor work.
Occassional assistance with business development activities.

Knowledge:

Subject matter expertise in one or more areas of communications practices - propagation models, antennas, traffic loading, point-to-point path analysis, network design, system security, data systems, regulatory issues, physical facilities (radio towers, shelters, grounding, power systems, etc), CAD and other applications.

Requirements:

BSEE, BSET, BS Physics or Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement); MSEE or Ph.D. is desirable. PE preferred.
15 years in engineering profession, at least 5 years of which are in the design and/or implementation of two-way radio, telecommunications, mobile data or other related wireless communications systems. Work experience in public safety or LMR industry is desirable.
Must possess good interpersonal communication skills - ability to write effectively and speak in public.
Must be able to work in a technical environment, to lead a technical group, and delegate work to others.
Must be willing to spend 15% to 25% of time in field, with occassional weekends.
Must be able to coordinate and execute multiple tasks.
