The Sr. Configuration Lead will ensure that the Configuration Management process will:Identify IT assets, pertinent subcomponents and configurations within IT that affect the IT service levelsProvide accurate information concerning the assets, configurations and documents to the rest of the Organization. Ensure that changes to the information are recorded and accurateVerify the recorded information against the actual physical assets and documentation SKILLS:Minimum of BS in Computer Science (related fields) with relevant work experience5+ years experience in managing IT processes using best practicesITIL/ITSM experience is highly desirable; In-depth knowledge of the corporate Change, Configuration, Problem, Incident and ServiceExperience applying ITIL/ITSM, particularly in configuration managementStrong background in Database management and associated issuesStrong background in Asset managementStrong project management skills desiredPossess strong knowledge of Company's IT management team organizationHigh-level understanding of IT enterprise infrastructureExperience in creating complex multi-program test plans, test cases, and test executablesAbility to analyze, summarize and prioritize statistical data for resolution planning from several sourcesExcellent leadership skills3-4 years as Team Lead, Supervisor or ManagerEffective team management and organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem solving, organizational, and decision making skillsEffective presentation skillsTechnically capable of working with the Change / Configuration Management SystemRESPONSIBILITIES:Provides leadership in the creation and management of the Configuration Management Strategy and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).Owns and manages the Configuration Management PlanWorks closely with the Corporate Asset Management Group to ensure tight linkage between the IT Configuration management process and the EAM processEnsure the Configuration Mgmt. process is well-integrated with Change management, Problem management, Operations management, Networks management and other functions.Ensures that the process to do automatic configuration detection and recording is integrated into the CMDBPlays a key role in the naming and number conventions within the ABS IT environment.Ensures that CI Owners maintain adequate Configuration Management process disciplines and systems for the CIs they ownEnsures authorized procedures and work practices are followedEnsures the escalation to Change Management off unauthorized CI changes or alterations to environment not reflected in CMDBSupports effective use of CMDB for other groups and processesUses the metrics reports to drive Process improvement Participates in Change Management process evaluationApproves structural changes to the CMDBDefines access privileges to CMDBInitiates proceedings against defaulters.PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide technical leadership for Configuration Management teamProvide leadership in the integration of the ITIL processCommunicate, inform, and work with others to ensure the appropriate level of identification, recording and tracking of the CMDB itemsParticipates in the interview and hiring process for Configuration AnalystsParticipates in the performance review process for Configuration Analysts
