Description
The systems release consultant is responsible for the successful delivery of large software releases in support of a release delivery methodology. The release consultant works closely with the business leadership to identify and help prioritize potential projects for a release. The consultant also works within hats to optimize release project composition by looking at team and release capacity, funding options, and project phasing to maximize delivery benefit. The consultant, working with a team of project managers, oversees all phases of the release lifecycle. The consultant is responsible for monitoring and controlling the release by monitoring release scope changes and coordinating the implementation plan.

1. Manage the full life cycle of each release to ensure comprehensive, timely and high quality outcome.
2. Identify and engage all key stakeholders, contributors, business and technical resources that must participate in release planning and delivery.
3. Create overall release plan using tools that facilitate task listing, assignments, and tracking to ensure successful delivery.
4. Work with test manager to ensure testing is appropriately scheduled and executed for each release.
5. Communicate detailed and timely status of each project to management and business resources.
6. Provide computer program and system development and technical support, implement complex technical strategies, and correct problems of a highly complex, critical nature. Initiate analysis for complex problems and issues, determine technical alternatives, analyze vendor solutions and negotiate contracts, and develop appropriate standards for technology application.
7. Define project objectives and prepare project plans as assigned continuing to utilize technical expertise. Provide analysis and solutions to technical and business issues. Understand and apply technology and Corporate vision setting direction on implementation. Maintain awareness of business and technology strategies and implement technical alternatives and strategies to gain competitive advantage. Manage vendor relationships, and maintain the complex technical infrastructure of assigned area to meet business requirements.
8. Provide technical leadership and consultation to project team members as directed by the project manager. Initiate and conduct feasibility studies of new and modified operational procedures. For large systems, prepare cost/benefit analyses, functional and detail specifications. Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation and implementation of the systems. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure operational integrity and accomplishment of stated objectives. Design, code, test, debug and document programs as required.
9. Provide consultation and assistance to Corporate and Business organizations in the preparation of project plans as assigned.
10. Assist in the development of the strategic technical architecture plans in partnership with the business or staff department. Provide technical solutions to business problems, technical leadership and direction to management.
11. Assist in the management of the partnership with the business unit.
12. Remain current on technical and professional advances and business strategies regarding area of responsibility. Serve as expert in area of responsibility, identifies process improvements and problem prevention, and advise department and management of relevant information as appropriate.
12. Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards.
13. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company?s Diversity programs.df-tc


Experience/Skills
This position requires an individual with:
. A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Business. Previous experience should include 6-8 years in financial services, and 6-8 years in the
IT industry managing large, complex projects across multiple teams. Experience working in a release-based environment is preferred. The successful candidate would have a high energy level, as well as a high degree of commitment with the ability to work independently. crucial skills include project and process management, excellent verbal and written skills, analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong leadership abilities.
