Description:
Visto is looking for a highly energetic and multitalented Oracle professional to support its production environment for our mobile applications.

You will be a member of the Operations Team, responsible for 24x7 Data Center schedule and will possess a combination of excellent database design and analytical skills, as well as familiarity with various Internet protocols and Java applications.


Responsibilities include:
?Responsible for new business requirements and implementing future Oracle enhancements to meet the business needs
?Monitor system performance and health, maintaining DB and OS level patches, documenting changes, change control, capacity planning, disaster recovery and security procedures, and supporting our internal database environment
?Involved in designing and implementing variety of database monitoring tools to enhance existing processes to improve overall Operations effectiveness
?Help refine system recovery, application performance analysis, database reliability and redundancy factors
?Key person to ensure that Visto engineers and QA team have a reliable and scalable development environment
?Capable of teaching other team members in the use and best practices concerning these Oracle Technologies

Required Skills & Experience:
?5+ years hands-on experience as a Sr. Oracle DBA on Unix-based systems
?5+ years working in a Multi-tiered Enterprise Application Environment
?5+ years of working experience in a mission critical environment (Data Center, 365x24x7)
?5+ years working on a Sun Solaris platform in a mission critical environment
?Experience working with the Veritas File System, Volume Manager, and Cluster Server
?Experience working in an Oracle RAC environment (preferably 10g)
?Experience with tuning and optimizing database performance (Oracle 9i, 10g)
?Extensive PERL and shell script programming skill
?Practical knowledge of data backup and recovery
?Understanding of networking and some practical knowledge of SendMail systems
?Excellent oral and written communications skill
