JOB DESC:Primary Responsibilities: The Senior Database Architect will work in our Microsoft-based environment and will be tasked with architecture and design responsibilities as well as the overall modeling of the database schema for the IT enterprise. The Senior Database Architect will be responsible for logical and physical database design and implementation, transforming logical data models into physical databases, and defining strategies for database implementation. Knowledge of Investment Management concepts and data elements is fundamental to the successful applicant. The Senior Database Architect will work closely with the application teams to implement designs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------JOB DUTIES:Secondary Responsibilities: The Senior Database Architect will define and implement approaches to loading and extracting data from the database and will manage, support, and troubleshoot in the SQL Server environment. The Senior Database Architect will work with database administrators to implement and optimize databases and will help with capacity planning needs, tuning and assist in the establishment of backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements:

JOB SKILLS:The incumbent will have significant experience architecting databases in the investment management industry as knowledge of the investment management industry is critical to success. Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline. An advanced degree is preferred. Five or more years of data architecture experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. Expert in logical and physical data modeling. Expert level knowledge of database development using Structured Query Language Server 2000 and Transact SQL. Expert in strategies and approaches for physical database design, performance optimization, physical database partitioning and database replication. Expert with database extraction and loading concepts. Knowledge of the .NET platform is preferred.
