Description
For this contract position as a Database Engineer, you will use your breadth of technical, analytical, communication, and collaboration and development skills. You will drive aggressive development timelines. You will use your abilities to comprehend complex business processes with technology requirements to drive technology solutions.

This position will be responsible for developing and delivering quality database design, code and engineering artifacts. The candidate will accountable for end-to-end development milestones for external partnering IT System development projects.

Common tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Writing T-SQL Code, Stored procedures, SSRS RDL/RDS, SSIS packages
  • Relational database design
  • Creating engineering artifacts (HLD, DLD) for assigned tasks
  • Understanding the existing systems, while analyzing upstream/downstream system impacts
  • Keeping track of the features and bug fixes being deployed
  • Participation in triage meetings

Experience/Skills
  • Extensive experience in high volume OLTP and BI systems utilizing advanced features of back-office technologies such as T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, ETL, Replication, SSB, UDF in High-Availability DataMarts
  • Solid background in database architecture, design, and experience at the enterprise scale
  • Extensive experience in writing T-SQL
  • Extensive experience in relational database design
  • Extensive experience in writing SSIS packages
  • Good knowledge about developing database solution with SSB (SQL Service Broker)
  • Good understanding of web applications, and able to troubleshoot UI calls to backend
  • Good knowledge about XML, .NET technologies
  • Experience in development tools such as DBPro, methodologies
  • Good communication skills and cross-group and cross-org collaboration skills on a global team scale
  • Passion for quality
  • Experience with VSTS and VSTS DB Pro preferred
  • Experience with MOM packages preferred
