Position: Senior Database Engineer
Location: Caribou, ME

Company Description: A Sr. Database Architect/Engineer is needed for a company whose product is database intensive software for the Tax Preparation Industry. The lifestyle is rural Northeast and the company was listed in the INC 500 for five years running.

Requirements: Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL, data analysis and modeling. Full understanding of MS SQL Server architecture and database concepts. Strong experience in performance tuning database systems, including application design, application SQL, performance monitoring and tuning tools, database parameters and tuning, and disk layouts. Skilled at creating, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers. Proficient in database normalization techniques. Considerable experience and knowledge with installation, configuration management, security, backup and recovery procedures of MS SQL. Experience with designing and maintaining database and code change control processes. Knowledge of object modeling and OOD principles a plus. Experience developing in web-based, client-server, and three-tier architectures in a Microsoft systems environment a benefit. Knowledge of Visual Basic, C++ and the .NET programming environment a plus.

Duties: Direct and perform logical and physical database analysis and modeling, design, development, modification, testing, and tuning of databases for a database-intensive application.
