Description
Our client, a major Fortune 500 company is currently looking for a Senior Desktop Analyst to join their team in Redwood City, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

Working with the Workstation Manager and End User Device Team Lead gathers detail information on requirements for devices used by end users throughout the organization, including, but not limited to desktops, tablets, PDAs, printers, & bar code readers.

Testing end-user device functionality and interoperability in a complex Clinical Information System setting that is part of an enterprise solution.

Work closely with network administrators, DBAs, developers and application groups, to determine device configuration requirements.

Updates and may create documentation of systems and desktop application configuration, to include use of handheld devices, tablet technology and PCs.

Performs testing based on scripts and test plans for unit, integration and performance testing of the end user computing environment in relation to the Epic Implementation.

Updates asset inventory as needed.

May install software per documented instructions as needed.

Use of software distribution software, such as SMS or Marimba.

Works with users & project team members to determine needs; then translates them into functional designs as need.

Analyst is responsible for completing project work orders.

Responsible for completing weekly status reports and escalating issues to the Team Lead for End User Computing as needed.

Experience/Skills
Required Skills:

Must have 3+ years experience with PC operating systems (i.e., Windows 2000/XP, Windows Server, and MS Office).

Must have knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting procedures, device imaging, and network connectivity.

Must have detailed knowledge of Desktop Packaging (SMS Installer, WISE, or other packaging tools).

Must have knowledge of Software Distribution Tools, such as Marimba.

Must have knowledge of vb scripting.

Must have knowledge of good PC practices regarding virus avoidance and security awareness.

Must be able to develop creative solutions to complex problems.

Must have excellent organization skills and strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Healthcare application end-user support.

Experience Citrix thin-client technology.
