You should have three to five years of experience in software and web application development and a solid understanding of database development using MySQL and Oracle (PL/SQL). Senior Developers play a technical leadership role and are expected to provide technical direction for their team and to help Associate Developers improve their knowledge and skills.Specific Responsibilities: Design and implement system architecture Develop and enhance core site APIs Design and develop database procedures Lead the technical design and implementation of our software products Ensure that all technical deliverables of a project team adhere to our quality standards Participate in defining and enforcing our coding guidelines and standards Train, mentor and provide guidance to less senior developers Work with project managers to create work estimates and timeframes for technical development tasks Work with project managers to manage technical development tasks and project risk Requirements / Qualifications Required Skills/Qualifications:6+ years in software application development 4+ years in development and design experience in key web development technologies such as Java, PHP, JSP, HTML, modPERL, Python, XHTML, XML, ECMAScript 4+ years development experience with Oracle, Sybase, or other major RDBMS Thorough understanding of object oriented programming and database concepts and principles Advanced knowledge of a UNIX type operating system (preferably Linux) Advanced knowledge of web protocols and programming requirements Experience with structured development methodologies Experience building highly interactive, highly trafficked, databasedriven web applications Experience writing technical documentation (i.e., requirements, specifications, design documents, etc.) Strong communication, organization and planning skills Proven leadership skills BS degree (in Computer Science or related discipline) Strong commitment to our core purpose of empowering underserved communities Desired Skills/Qualifications:Good understanding of the PHP programming language Development experience with MySQL Good understanding of C, C++ or Java Compensation Competitive Salary 100% Employer Paid Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D, Short Term Disability, & Long Term Disability Plans 401K Plan with Company Match Paid Maternity/Paternity Leave Flexible Spending Accounts Educational Assistance Stock Options 3 Weeks Paid Time Off (during first year of employment) Paid Holidays Health & Wellness Program TransitChek Program
