Description
Job Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to analyze, develop, implement and provide operational support of application programs to support one or more of the business functions of US Foodservice.
Leads small projects or tasks (1 to 2 person team).
Develop program specifications for subordinate programmers.
Provides technical analysis for the development of project plans.
Prepare requirements, specifications, balancing procedures and data element definitions.
Assist in the development of application systems that comply with the standard system development methodology and concepts for design, programming, backup, and recovery to deliver solutions that have superior performance and integrity.
Assists in overseeing the integrity of complex/critical business applications on a day-to-day basis, as appropriate.
Provide assistance to analyze, develop and implement solutions to complex system problems.
Provide 7-day, 24-hour on-call support for application systems.
Develop documentation regarding the end use of the application and the technical support of the application.
Interpret high level analysis to be used in preparing design documents.
Prepare status report to supervisor.
Prepare training documents for users as required by changes in the applications system.
Provide quality assurance testing and interpret results of programming changes of other team members and recommend revisions.

Experience/Skills
Experience Required (Minimum Needed):
5+ years of relative experience in the computer field.
2+ years of experience of development on Tandem platform using Cobol, NM-Cobol, SCobol, TACL
2+ years of experience with Tandem tools/utilities like FUP, DDL, SCUP, Peruse, Inspect, Netbatch, Hcom, Bcom, Measure
2+ experience with NSQL & Enscribe
Substantial record of success and innovation working in teams.
Experience with industry standard full software development lifecycle
Ability to transform business requirements into design documents and technical specs
Provide technical architectural leadership
Prior experience with order processing and accounting applications a plus

Education Required (Minimum Needed):
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Business or related field, or appropriate technical training and/or equivalent job experience.
