Position Description:

Client is dedicated to offering home area network (HAN) solutions and integration into the utilities Smart Grid infrastructure to help homeowners and small businesses manage their energy use. The activities encompass the development of engaging user interfaces for energy monitoring, control and demand/response applications on a touch screen controller and for Web services.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing Embedded device applications in networking products. The candidate must possess strong software architecture and design skills, will create code that meets design specifications, and is easy to maintain.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • 7+ years related experience.
  • Excellent development skills and experience in C++, Unix, Linux.
  • Experience developing Embedded applications.
  • Experience integrating third party best of class software.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time on aggressive timelines.
  • Able to perform well in an agile environment.
  • Understanding of software development processes, including Object Oriented analysis, design, and implementation.
  • BS or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience as a software architect from design to delivery.
  • Experience working in both startups and mature companies.
  • Knowledge of energy management techniques, energy analytics, grid management software, electric rate structures or carbon calculations.
  • Experience in an agile development environment.
  • Development experience with Java, SQL Server, Flash Lite, Flex, .NET
  • Development experience with element management systems and/or Web service applications
