Senior Electronics Engineer


The Senior Electronic Engineer will manage the overall project and technical development efforts of one or more toy brand product lines ensuring quality, cost, and schedule adherence. Serve as the point person/project liaison from initial concept through production start. This includes direct communication with our Far East Office. To develop and implement innovative methods and solutions that meet project objectives. To lead engineering related meetings and act as the Product Development Lead for all assigned development efforts. Execute the most challenging engineering designs and most complex projects within the department. Take a role in the training and direction of interns, temps and Associate/Electronics Engineers on team. Travel, both domestic and abroad, may be required on assigned projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement innovative methods, ideas and solutions that meet project objectives.
  • Review costing/feasibility of projects and suggest alternative ideas to reduce costs.
  • Complete product specification packages and review packages that are completed by others.
  • Act as the PDL (Product Development Lead) for all assigned product development efforts.
  • Lead engineering related meetings (check/design reviews, VSP, FEP, Green Tag, etc)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of SRS's and CPSC guidelines.
  • Identify technical risks and provide input in the initial designs of concepts.
  • Mentor and provide guidance/technical direction to interns, temps, Assoc/Electronics Engineers.
  • Evaluate and critique others engineer's designs.
  • Execute the most challenging engineering designs and complex projects within the department.
  • Manage both internal and external resources to support product development effort.
  • Be aware of industry trends and have the ability to identify emerging technologies or processes.

    Qualifications:

  • BSEE, BS Computer Engineering or Equivalent, Masters preferred
  • 5-8 years related experience
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering. In particular, experience with 8, 16, and 32-bit microprocessors, FPGA's and other programmable logic beneficial.
  • Experience with hardware and firmware design in consumer electronics applications, particularly with Audio/Visual products, and wired and wireless connectivity (USB, WiFi, etc)
  • Experience with programming in C or C++
  • Embedded system and RTOS experience is beneficial
  • Knowledge of electronic components, test methods, and procedures to ensure that products meet reliability and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of other Engineering-Related Disciplines (mechanical, material, etc) is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Product Engineering and Development
  • Engineering Documentation Development
  • Engineering Project Management
  • Engineering Strategy Development
  • Strong communication skills to clearly communicate product designs to technical and non-technical team members, some with English as a second language.
  • Ability to resolve technical problems with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Music composition experience and ability to read, write, and transpose music is a plus.df-tc
