John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Senior Engineer - Embedded Software to develop, implement and lead the Dubuque application of the Enterprise Embedded Software Development Process on each of eleven Dubuque-designed product lines. In this position, you will:

Ensure the quality and timeliness in completing software development while following this process.
Drive improvements in product design efficiency and product quality.
Teach and coach other embedded software engineers in the improved methods of writing requirements, planning and holding code reviews, testing, collecting and using metrics.
Provide appropriate scaling of the process to individual programs.
Develop and implement appropriate software development metrics to drive improvements in C&F software development efficiency and quality while working with embedded systems engineers on all 11 product lines.
Lead the integration of appropriate standards into the process including required documentation.
Provide solutions to process related problems associated with embedded software.





Education

Four year degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.


Required Skills & Experiences

8+ years of embedded software development experience, including a combination of experiences in embedded software design, software testing/analysis and software quality assurance
Experience in embedded software design.
Knowledge of Software Development Processes, including the Capability Maturity Model.
Knowledge of software development metrics.
Proven ability to manage software design programs while meeting quality and schedule requirements.


Desired Skills & Experiences

Knowledge of embedded hardware components.
Knowledge of Model Based Software Development principles.
