Position Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist

Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Manager-HR, Engines this position will encompass all facets of human resources focusing on recruitment and selection, organizational development, training and development, associate relations, and relationship building with all levels of the organization.

Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for assisting hiring managers with the identification, interviewing selection, and on-boarding of internal and external candidates for exempt and non-exempt positions ensuring compliance with Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Requirements.

May be responsible for assisting with factory hiring and other union issues, including disciplinary action, investigations and terminations.

Work closely with all levels of the organization to build effective development plans, engagement action planning, coach on performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning.

Responsible for the investigation and resolution of associate issues ranging from basic to complex issues.

Will be responsible for enhancing and managing the Intern/Co-op program.

Coordinate the scheduling of psychological assessments and assist with the administration of various cognitive assessment tools. Review and interpret cognitive testing results with all levels of management and associates.

Participate in other related human resource administration activities to include but not limited to, spreadsheet generation, stand up training, coach and mentor HR Co-op, develop business proposals (ACTs), and audit current policies, practices, and programs to ensure compliance.

Assist with new employee orientation and other training activities to ensure smooth integration of new hires into the Engines Business and Kohler Company.

Assess training needs and coordinate training sessions.

Personally demonstrate and drive the Kohler Core Competencies (Build Trust, Set High Standards of Performance, Drive Continuous Improvement, & Focus on the End Customer) throughout Power Systems.


Relationships and Contacts:
Solid line report to the Manager-HR, Engines.
Will have an HR Co-op as a direct report.

Organizational Relationships:
Frequent contact with all levels of management and associates within the organization.
Frequent contact with HR Centers of Excellence.

External Business Relationships:
Frequent contact with external applicants.
Attend seminars as needed to maintain expertise on Human Resources technologies and trends.
Occasionally work with external recruitment firms.

Education and Experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with the emphasis in Human Resources or related field is required. In addition, 5-7 years experience in a progressive human resources role is required. PHR Certification is preferred or must be obtained within 2 years in position. Strong verbal, written, and personal computer skills are a must.df-tc
